Good Self is in the process of writing some new material. Those who were at the show at the Whisky A Go Go heard 2 out of these 3. When Good Self get’s together to record again, you can bet that these songs will be the first to go up. We are very excited to see how everyone will react to these new songs, and we hope you enjoy listening to them as much as we enjoyed writing them. Keep checking back for the update!
California Dreaming
The show at the Whisky A Go Go was a complete success.
While I was in South Florida, Dave Zand and Sarah Meister put together a band who learned all of our songs so that we could play the show at Whisky on June 1st. When I arrived to the first, and only rehearsal before the show, I was blown away by the talent of these people (Nate – Drums, Keith – Bass, Brock – Mandolin). The songs sounded great, and everything fell right into place.
The show was wonderful, we all had a blast performing, and we can’t wait to do it again.
You can check out all of the photos here.
We will keep you posted on all our upcoming shows, so keep coming back!

Writer’s Block and thoughts on the Future
It has been hard to write a song lately.
I mean, it’s simple for one to write a song. All you have to is throw a couple of chords together, get a melody, and bam, you’re off to writing a song. But it’s a little more complicated than that. My brother, Dave, lives on the opposite side of the United States, so obviously, it is difficult to play shows, write songs, and build a following. I’ve been having trouble with this lately, and I have even been second guessing my ability as a song writer. But with all things, this terrible wave of writer’s block will pass with time.
On the bright side, I do plan to head back to the studio and record a couple more tracks, release a single, I don’t know. But what I can tell you, is to prepare yourself for a different sound, a sound that I hope you will enjoy.
Today has been a good day, I’ve come to realize that music isn’t about throwing chords together, and writing a melody. I can do that any day of the week, and I can make you pay your $1 for a song that I wrote drunk on the beaches of Fort Lauderdale. But I would much rather take my time, and deliver something that I know you will enjoy. I want to make that $1 the best $1 you ever spent, and to do that, I need time. So enjoy The Wolf That Brought Us Lava, it was the first step into the world of music for me, and I am very excited for the future of Good Self, and I hope you are too.

Clever Spending!
Lets think: What cost $1?
A can of soda, a bag of chips, McDonalds, Kit-Kat, a 3rd of a gallon of gas, 2 cigarettes, 100 thoughts, and finally, The Wolf That Brought Us Lava, the debut EP from Good Self.
You can buy it now from my bandcamp page by going to “Store” in the top bar!
I hope you enjoy listening to the album as much as I enjoyed putting it together.
